Obituary for Ann E. McClure (Gibbons)

Ann Elizabeth (Gibbons) McClure, 82, of Canton, beloved wife of the late Thomas Joseph McClure, died Friday, June 16, 2017 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born January 11, 1935 in Pittsfield, MA, daughter of the late William and Mary (Powers) Gibbons and had lived in Lee, MA prior to moving to Canton 57 years ago. A graduate of St Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. McClure was a Registered Nurse for Winsted Memorial Hospital for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Saint Ann. She was a lifelong Democrat, a fan of the Boston Redsox and UCONN Basketball, and had enjoyed knitting and reading. Most of all, she loved being Nana to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Michael McClure and his wife Ann of Barkhamsted, Nancy McClure and her partner Joseph Nates of Avon, Susan McClure of Canton and Thomas McClure and his wife Ann of Duxbury, MA; her brother-in-law, James McClure and his wife Marion of Dalton, MA; her sisters-in-law, Eileen Miraglia, Patricia Hudelston and her husband Kenneth and Nora Quadrozzi and her husband Donald, all of Pittsfield, ; her four grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth McClure, Catherine McClure, Emily McClure and Matthew McClure; many nieces and nephews and her beloved cocker spaniel Molly. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and William Gibbons.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Wednesday, June 21st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 22nd at 10:00 AM at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road in Avon. Burial will be private.
