Carol L. (Barniak) Johnson, 77, of Tariffville, beloved wife of Charles K. Johnson, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was born January 23, 1940 in Waterbury, and had lived in Hamden prior to moving to Tariffville 15 years ago. Carol was a graduate of University of St. Joseph, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Chemistry. Mrs. Johnson was a chemist at UpJohn and Dow Chemical for many years prior to her retirement. Carol enjoyed dog shows, was an AKC Judge and founded the Irish Setter Club of Central Connecticut. She also enjoyed video games, cooking and reading. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her cousins, Michael Guarnieri, Patrick Guarnieri, Christopher Guarnieri, Catherine Guarnieri, Raymond Guarnieri, Jr., Robert Guarnieri, Rose Guarnieri, Elizabeth Jamieson, Portia Maher, Audra Maher, Elizabeth Guarnieri, Joseph Iannicelli, Michael Guarnieri, Jr., and Helena Guarnieri.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 14th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
