Obituary for Kathleen "Kip" Idell Palmer

Kathleen Idell (Pittsley) "Kip" Palmer, 69, of Simsbury, died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home. She was born August 4, 1948 in Fulton, NY, daughter of the late Theodore and Norma E. (Wilson) Pittsley. She was a graduate of Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing.

Kip was a resident of Simsbury for over 40 years where she was an active member of the community and worked as a real estate agent, forming forever friendships with her colleagues and clients. She spent time as a volunteer at Gifts of Love in Avon and was a member of the Old Drake Hill Flower Bridge Association.

She enjoyed gardening, playing with her grandson, taking nature walks, helping her kids with household projects and attending community events such as the Talcott Music Festival and Rotary Club gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Robert Scott Palmer and his wife Irene of Simsbury, Michael Brett Palmer and his wife Kari Anne of Avon, and Ashley Keane and her husband William Dennis Hayes of Long Beach, CA; her sister, Lyn Presco and her husband Jack of Florida; her grandson, Theodore Santos Palmer and her lifelong friend Bonnie Clark of Roswell, GA whom she loved like a sister.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Saturday, August 12th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM followed by a celebration of Kip's life at Attilios at Simsbury Farms, 100 Old Farms Road, Simsbury from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
