Elaine (Thompson) Dow, 94, of Avon, wife of the late William D. Dow, Jr., died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. She was born June 15, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Grace (Hamilton) Thompson and had lived in Avon for the past 69 years. Elaine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ionic Chapter #100 and the Grand Cross of Color, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She enjoyed time with family, activities at church, and going for walks.

She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Mazzarella and her husband Santo of Canton and Sharon “Cindy” Marquis and her husband Peter of Guilford, NH; her grandchildren, Jonathan R. Soucia, Erica L. Coyne, James Austin Marquis, William Brett Marquis and Kaitlyn Marquis; six great grandchildren; two nieces, Alice Brocato and Margaret Grabowski; and her best friend and neighbor, Howard Jacob. She was predeceased by her numerous brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in West Cemetery in Bristol.
