Obituary for Donald Kubik

Donald J. Kubik, 88, of Avon, husband of Ruth (Griffin) Kubik, died on Monday, November 27, 2017, at his home. He was born October 18, 1929, in Avon; son of the late Frank J. and Mary (Sholosky) Kubik. He was a Milkman in his early career and a Labor Foreman for many years prior to his retirement. Donald will be remembered for his strength, determination, and sense of humor. He had many great friends and enjoyed sharing conversations and laughter with them. Donald enjoyed cooking, creating his own recipes and eating good food. He also enjoyed hunting, tennis, skiing and Native American artifacts. He was very creative and enjoyed painting and working on various projects. He especially loved going to his grandchildren’s sports games.
Besides his wife of 50 years he is survived by his daughter, Maureen Amaral; a sister, Doris Zumbroski; and his grandchildren, Natalie, Maegan and August Amaral, all of Avon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his dog Chip.
A burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gifts of Love, 34 E Main St. Avon, CT 06001. Please visit Donald’s Book of Memories at, www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online condolences.
