Our sympathies are with Anne and the rest of the Hellwig family. I have so many fond memories of Eric’s quick wit and warm smile. You always had to be on your toes when entered the Hellwig house as he always had a question that would put you on the spot. Alas I was always too slow and he would cajole me with the obvious answer and a chuckle. He always listened caringly to my issues and always had a relatable story at hand. It was easy for anyone to conversation with Eric. He influenced many, including myself, through the gentle moral guidance he provided in his story telling. Anne and Eric certainly had their hands full raising their 3 boys which I saw firsthand. I’m not sure what penance Anne was paying from a former life in having to deal with their 3 sons whose tongues were as sharp as their father’s. Her seemingly boundless caring provided the balance the household needed. Together they provided the guidance for not only their own children but many others as well.
