Obituary for Milton E. ""Bud"" Mattson

Milton E. “Bud” Mattson, 94, of Canton, husband of the late Shirley (Alender) Mattson, died peacefully Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. He was born on April 12, 1923 in New Britain, son of the late Jacob and Elsie Lindroth Mattson, and had been a lifelong resident of Canton. Milton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. He was a Machinist at The Collins Co., Collinsville, United Tool & Die, West Hartford, and Charles House Co., Unionville for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran’s Church in Avon and Schiller Lodge # 25 of Collinsville. Milton enjoyed playing cards and a good game of baseball.
Milton is survived by his sons, Alan Mattson and his wife Barbara of South Glastonbury, and Gerald Mattson and his wife Janice of Norfolk; his grandchildren, Darren Mattson of Rocky Hill, Daniel Mattson and his wife Kristina of West Suffield, Karen Mattson of Winsted, and Karl Mattson of Buffalo, NY; his great grandchildren, Evan and Finley Mattson and his sister, Dorothy Seger of Canton Center, CT.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Monday, February 19th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
