I am shocked and saddened to hear of Suzie’s death. We were childhood friends who reconnected in our early years of marriage. Two memories are very special to me. In the first I had gone to their beach house to watch a preseason football game that my husband was playing in. West Hartford stations were not carrying the game but the southern part of the state was. When we got to her house it wasn’t on there either so we drove to Yale and each nursed one beer while we sat at a bar watching the entire game. We had to stop for coffee to keep her awake on the drive home. Later when my husband had moved before me when I was quite pregant, I looked up in surprise as I was shoveling my driveway in a snowstorm to see Suzie and Tom pull up with shovels to dig me out. Such a lovely woman! As I read all of the tributes I know she will be sorely missed.
