Obituary for Eleanor Z. Erickson

Eleanor (Zega) Erickson, 83, of Canton, beloved wife of Harold Erickson, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at The Reservoir Care and Rehabilitation Center in West Hartford. She was born, February 13, 1929 in Torrington, daughter of the late Stanley and Lottie (Zembrowski) Zega and had lived in Torrington prior to moving to Collinsville 64 years ago. Mrs. Erickson was a Quality Control Inspector for Hamilton Standard prior to her retirement. Eleanor was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She enjoyed Polka dancing and music, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Besides her loving husband of 64 years, she is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Erickson of Canton; a son, Henry Erickson and his wife Amalia of Warren, VT; two granddaughters, Alice and Anne Erickson; three great grandchildren, Rowan, Kieran and Genevieve; a brother, Henry Zega and his wife Joan of Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edmund Zega and two sisters, Theresa Zega and Sophie Lavieri. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, on Monday, November 26th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday, November 27th, 10:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville.
