Delia (Gaouette) Dunn, 79, of Simsbury, beloved wife of Samuel M. Griswold, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was born September 22, 1938 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Reginald and Jeannie (Brown) Gaouette. Delia was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, having received her Associates Degree in Chemistry. Mrs. Dunn was the Head of Marketing for Hooker and Holcomb in West Hartford for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Simsbury Garden Club. Delia enjoyed boating with her husband, Sam, on their power cruiser, Utopia. Perhaps her favorite destination for their boat trips was Martha's Vineyard where they spent time with family and good friends. All those who knew her will remember Delia for her exuberant laugh and her audacious spirit.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her sons, Matthew Dunn of New Britain, CT and Douglas Dunn and his wife Kathryn Dunn of East Hartland, CT.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Friday, January 5th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 6th at the Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.
