Obituary for Peggy Ann Rudolph

Peggy Ann Rudolph, 66, of Simsbury, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Hartford Hospital with her sister by her side. She endured a lifetime of illness with acceptance and determination. She was born January 8, 1952 in New London, daughter of the late Otto William and Constance (Oestrike) Rudolph and had lived in Hamden and New London prior to moving to Simsbury 48 years ago. Peggy was a Clerk/Typist for Aetna and Metropolitan insurance companies and was a Clerk for the CT Student Loan Foundation. She was a member of the Simsbury United Methodist Church, former member of the First Baptist Church in New Haven and a member the Simsbury Stamp Club and the American Philatelic and Numismatic Societies. Peggy enjoyed sewing and embroidery, painting and was an avid collector. She was a loyal fan of the Simsbury Community Band and gave devoted care to her parents before their passing.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Rudolph of Simsbury and her cousins, Caroline and Al Grippo, Carole and Sherri Daniels, Dr. Richard Oestrike, Charlie and Hilda Budd, Daniel Budd, Wendy and Michael Mascarenhas, Susan and Larry Pike, John and Edward Rudolph, Linda Rudolph Joyce, Al Reiker, Jr., Susan Reiker Bower, and their families.
The family would like to thank all of Peggy’s medical teams for their support and compassion. We are grateful to Dr. Ronald Josephson and team, and to Hartford Hospital 12-High-Even, Palliative, Hospice and Chaplaincy teams for their compassion and professionalism. Barbara is extremely grateful to Simsbury United Methodist Church, and to her co-workers at STS for their prayers, support and flexibility.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28th at 12:00 Noon at the Simsbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow be in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simsbury United Methodist Church, 799 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury CT 06070.
