Obituary for Sally Simpson Park (Simpson)

Sally (Simpson) Park, 81, of Simsbury, CT and Lake Waynewood, PA, wife of the late Dr. Richard Cecil Park, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born December 17, 1936 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Harry Simpson, Jr., and Katherine (Slocum) Simpson and had lived in Haddonfield, NJ and North Palm Beach, FL prior to moving to Simsbury 6 1/2 years ago. Sally was a graduate of Linden Hall School for Girls and received her associate of arts from Centenary Junior College. Sally married Richard, the love of her life, when she was 20. They built a wonderful life together with homes full of love and laughter open to family and friends. She enjoyed dancing with Richard, extensive traveling adventures and entertaining. She was an accomplished artist and cook, a patron of the arts, and active member of various charitable organizations while living in NJ and FL. More recently she most enjoyed the love of her grandchildren and laughter with friends and neighbors at McLean Village, Simsbury, CT and Lake Waynewood, PA.
She is survived by a son, Richard Ramsey Park and his wife Ping, of Oakton, VA; two daughters, Katherine P. Cain and her husband Leo, of Simsbury, CT and Suzanne Park Knodle and her husband Martin of Marlton, NJ; her grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Cain and Erik and Emily Park; her siblings, Harry Simpson III of Montgomery Village, MD and Kathie Simpson Reiter, St. James City, FL and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25th at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Avenue in Scranton, PA.
