Obituary for Germaine Bridgman

Germaine Marion (Przybycien) Bridgman, 80, of Simsbury, beloved wife of William L. Bridgman, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born June 18, 1938 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Michael and Marion (Dec) Przybycien and had lived in Chicago, IL prior to moving to Simsbury 42 years ago. Germaine had attended DePaul University. Mrs. Bridgman was a Control Group Administrator for Industrial Risk Insurers in Hartford for 39 years prior to her retirement in 1995, prided herself on being the first woman the company transferred after promoting her and was a member of the IRI Pioneer Club. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury and enjoyed contributing to many catholic charitable organizations. Upon retirement, she took up golf, which she really enjoyed. Germaine was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling, including 7 cruises, as well as spending winters in Florida.
In addition to her loving husband of 42 years, she is survived by her sister, Collette Khuans and her husband, Dr. Ken Khuans of Chicago, IL; her stepson, Michael Bridgman and his wife Nina of Salem, MA; her stepdaughter, Brenda Bridgman of Chimacum, WA; her grandchildren, Emily Bridgman of Salem, MA and Cody Van Noy of Tacoma, WA and her pride and joy niece and nephew, Attorney Nicollette Khuans and Michael Khuans, both of Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by a sister, Marianne Przybycien.
Her family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Friday, December 21st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 22nd at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Tariffville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
