To the Brink family, Please accept my condolences...your mother was very dear to me. We worked together for many years and I will always cherish the wonderful memories we shared. Your mother had an incredible gift of making every person she met feel very special. She always had an instant connection with people and was sincerely interested in their lives. I loved her. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Maureen Swarts

To the Brink Family - I am so sad for your loss, know that Ruthie's PEO sisters are also feeling your pain. My daughters loved Auntie Ruthie as we used to call her, who would always arrive with a gift. Last night we were remembering her deviled eggs from potlucks and her fudge at Christmas. She helped for buy and sell our homes in Simsbury and she was a dedicated and tenacious Realtor always working hard for her customers. But the thing I will remember most about Ruthie is her ability and passion for getting the mums cared for and sold to raise money for women's scholarship. She would be at our home all hours of the day and night to get the mums watered, always wanting the best for those we would be selling them too. She would carefully prune them so they looked just right. And when we had mums left, she hit the pavement of anyone she knew to buy the patch out. There are women who are benefiting because of Ruthie's can do nature. She is loved and missed by our family and we send our love and prayers as you say your goodbyes to this wonderfully courageous woman trailblazer who would not take no for an answer.

My condolences to the Brink family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.

I know Ruth through P.E.O. . She was a beloved member and truly committed to helping women achieve their educational goals. "Ruthie" was best known over the years as our "mum lady". She spent many an hour walking the fields at Meadow View Farms, selecting mums for our annual sale. She took the role of mum sale chairperson very seriously. Having lived in Hawaii for three years, we also shared a love for the islands. Ruth always had a story about one or more of her grandchildren. We knew about their gymnastics pursuits, their plans for college and more. She was a loving grandmother. Ruth was also a great fudge maker. Each year she would contribute fudge to our annual Christmas cookie swap. Ruth always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She asked about my family as well, trying to keep track of what was happening in my life. I will miss her sweet smile and her generous spirit. Small in stature, but big in heart - that was Ruthie!!
