Obituary for Rose Ann Winot (Rybak)

Rose Ann (Rybak) Winot, 92, of Simsbury, wife of the late Whitman "Bud" Winot, died Monday, November 25, 2019 at Touchpoints of Farmington. She was born December 16, 1926 in Unionville, daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Palker) Rybak and had lived in Simsbury for 70 years prior to moving to Atria Senior Living in Farmington. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Church in Simsbury where she was a daily communicant, a member of the Farmington Valley Square Dance, CONN-DESA and the Farmington Valley 25, and had enjoyed her weekly card group. She took great pride in caring for and raising her seven children, was known by all for her tollhouse cookies and outstanding pierogies.

She is survived by her children, Sandra McCormick and husband George of Wilton, ME, Lynne Erickson and husband Bernie of Unionville, Judy Winot Cole of Windsor, Robert Winot and wife Kathy Pelletier of Broad Brook, Thomas Winot and wife Charlene of Windsor, and Teresa Williams and husband Preston of Unionville; grandchildren, William, Nathan, Daniel and Gregory Cole, Matthew and Jeffrey Winot, Chelsea and Lindsey Winot and Emily and Jackson Williams and great grandchildren, Timothy, Madison, Logan, Jude and Xochitl, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Steven Whitman Winot.

Rose's family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Sunday, December 1st from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 2nd at St. Mary's Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
