Obituary for Nancie Lynn Shaw (Krouse)

Nancie Lynn Shaw, 79, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Avon Health Center. She was born February 11, 1940, in Glendale, California to Benjamin Clifford Krouse and Elizabeth Jane (Trimble) Krouse. She moved from Nevada to Connecticut in 2003 and was a resident of Canton for many years. Nancie worked administrative office positions and was adored by her co-workers for her positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and frequent gifts of home-baked goodies. Nancie made friends wherever she went with her fun sense of humor and generous heart. If she knew your birthdate, she would always remember it with a card and a gift, whether you were a close relative or the paper boy.

Nancie will be dearly missed by her surviving family, daughter Lisa Gray and her husband Gary, of Simsbury; sister MaryLou MacDonald of Gig Harbor, WA; brothers Tim Krouse and his wife, Ircsi, of Sherwood, OR, and Jeff Krouse and his wife, Christine, of Phoenix, AZ; grandsons Austin and Adam Arakelian, of Simsbury, and Nick Faulkner of Grants, NM; granddaughter Luz Faulkner of Gilbert, Arizona; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren; many adoring nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She is also survived by a son, Richard Faulkner, of California. In addition to her parents, Nancie has joined her grandson, Jordan Arakelian; sister, Sally Smith; and several very close friends, and is throwing the best dinner party heaven has ever seen.

The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the staff of Avon Health Center for their gentle and loving care of Nancie over the past three years. They truly became a second family to her.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 55 River Road in Collinsville. All are encouraged to wear red and/or purple in her honor.
