Sending condolences, love and many happy memories to my next door family. Lots of the memories involve sports, like the Indy 500 in the living room, Thanksgiving father-and-son football, and street hockey, a central neighborhood ritual that I think he actually started. Many others involve laughing. His jokes hit on everything under the sun, and were funny. Often they were as funny as he thought they were. Many of them were about my hair length. He was a huge figure to me, the patriarch of my second family. I'm glad I got to see him and Mrs. Carey and Matt not too long ago, but I wish I could see all you guys and trade hugs and swap stories. Love to all of you.

Pat, Thank you for sharing Pete's funeral mass with those of us who could not be there in person. It was a beautiful service. Father Matera was so very right when he said you are a role model for fulfilling marriage vows, showing us all what true love is. And Peter's movie word gave a wonderful picture of Pete as a father. We hope you find comfort in the coming days surrounded by your extraordinary family. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
Love, Jean and Steve Nystrom
