Obituary for Earl R. Murphy

Earl Robert Murphy, (Bob) 78, of Canton, husband of Carol (Caron) Murphy, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by is beloved family. He was born August 8, 1942 in Milford, CT, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Liliberg) Murphy, and had lived in Canton for over 60 years. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army, traveling throughout Germany and Ireland, and was honorably discharged.
Earl was an Iron Worker with the Local 15 for 32 years. After his retirement he went on to deliver oil for Valley Energy in Canton. Earl was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, the NRA and the Northwest Connecticut Sportsman’s Association. Earl loved spending time with his family, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors; fishing and hunting. He also had a great appreciation for antique cars, especially the Model A Ford.

In addition to his loving wife Carol, of 56 years, he is survived by his brother Michael Murphy of Southbury; his daughter, Sheila Murphy of Canton; his son, Thomas Murphy and wife Barbara of North Wales, PA; his granddaughters, Kazia King and husband Shane, and Madeline Murphy; his grandson, Patrick Murphy and his great granddaughters, Lili, Alexandra, and Joanna; his in-laws, George and Gilma Langevin, Barbara Blake, and John and Cindy Doran; as well as, many nieces and nephews / great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Murphy, and brothers-in-law Warren Caron and Dicky Blake.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 10th at Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Calling hours are from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with service immediately following. Proceeding services, Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Collinsville.
