Obituary for James Forzono

James Forzono, 60, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Susan (Tanis) Forzono, died Friday, February 11, 2022 at UConn John Dempsey Hospital. He was born June 30, 1961 in Suffern, NY, son of the late Carmine and Marie (Coyne) Forzono and had lived in Tuxedo, NY prior to moving to Simsbury 35 years ago. Jamie was a graduate of Ramapo College in NJ having received his Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management. He served in the Air National Guard in Ohio and New York and was a Parts Manager for Torrington Toyota for many years. While in New York, Jamie was a member the Tuxedo Fire Department and Ambulance Corp. After moving to Connecticut, he was a member of the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Irish American Home Society, and the Knights of Columbus. He cherished and celebrated his Irish heritage by traveling to Ireland, spending time with his Irish Wolfhounds, and being heavily involved in the local Irish community. Jamie loved to travel, especially to Ireland, Lake George, and Florida. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors taking care of his yard. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, having adopted 16 Greyhounds and saving some wildlife along the way. Most of all, Jamie enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends, leaving behind many memories we all hold dearly.

In addition to his loving wife of 36 years, James leaves his three children, Nicholas Forzono of Simsbury, Emily Forzono and fiancé Jose Garcia of Omaha, NE, and Tyler Forzono of Simsbury; his brothers, John Forzono and Carmine Forzono, Jr. and wife Josee; his mother-in-law, Clara Tanis; brother-in-law, Ned Rupp; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Karen Westervelt and his nieces and nephew.
