Real Marc Hamel, 79, of the Weatogue section of Simsbury, husband of the late Shirley A. (Rood) Hamel, died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at John Dempsey Hospital. He was born January 24, 1943 in Canada, son of the late Roger Marc and Mary (Lecuyer) Hamel and had lived in Weatogue for 52 years. He was a Mason for Simscroft Echo Farms for many years prior to his retirement. Real enjoyed wood working, gardening, watching old movies and sitcoms and getting visits from his five grandsons.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Hamel and her partner Joseph Peter Macsata, Sr. of Winsted; his sister, Carole Bourque of Canada; his brother, Marcel Hamel of Canada; his grandchildren, Joseph Peter Jr., Jacob Bryan, Alexander Cole, Julian Edward and Gabriel Real Macsata, all of Winsted. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his twin sons, Charlie and Ricky Hamel.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, with burial to follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
