Obituary for Edward Donald Bell

Edward Donald Bell, 92, passed away at Meadowbrook of Granby on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 20, 1930, Ed served honorably in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1949, and in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1952, where he was an avionics mechanic and worked on B50 Bombers during the Korean War. He later worked as a Pricing Manager in the aerospace industry in California. When he wasn’t working, his passion was sailing the Pacific Ocean.

Ed was a simple man with simple tastes. His favorite meal was a basic bowl of soup. He loved his family, tropical climates, inventing, model building, and conspiracy theories, but disliked being told what to do, cold weather, throwing anything away, and anything with processed sugar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Donald and Ida (Eichler) Bell, and his grandson, Jordan Arakelian. He will be missed by his surviving family members, daughter, Lisa Gray, and her husband, Gary Gray, of Weatogue, CT; grandsons Austin Arakelian of Portsmouth, NH, and Adam Arakelian of Weatogue, CT; his brother, Roger Bell, and his wife, Arlene, of Woodland Hills, CA; and his niece, Jessica Pascual, and her husband, Perry, also of Woodland Hills.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 3:00 to 5:00 P. M. at Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A burial with military honors will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road in Roslyn, PA. Please visit Ed’s Book of Memories at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online tributes.
