Obituary for Raymond L. Juros

Raymond Lee Juros, 87, formerly of Winsted, Avon, Woodbury, and Manchester, CT, died peacefully on November 15,2022 at age 87. He was born in Manchester, son of the late Stanley Joseph and Leona (Jodoin) Juros and was predeceased by his brother, James Juros.

Ray was the President and Chief Programmer of Data Services Company in Avon. His innovative business offered a variety of corporate services, including database conversion, payroll, and mass mailing. Ray also created early software prototypes of spreadsheet and accounting software.

Ray was a talented artist having enjoyed painting and sketching landscapes. He was a member of the Church of Saint Ann in Avon where he was a Project Manager for several Americares Homefront (now St. Ann Cares) renovation and rehabilitation projects. He was a decorated Eagle Scout and an Airman in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He will be remembered for his arrowhead collection, his coaching with Avon Youth Soccer, his ability to spot an ancient pounding stone or identify a hawk from miles away.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Frink and husband Neal of Fort Thomas, KY, Gregory Juros of Winsted, Christine Brown and husband Tim of Sandwich, MA and Michael Juros and wife Sara of Marblehead, MA; brothers Thomas Juros of Vero Beach, FL and John Juros and wife Karen of Sandwich, MA; his grandchildren, Clayton and Simon Frink, Adam and Keith Juros, Hunter and Riley Brown, and Jacob and Gretchen Juros and several nieces and nephews. Ray is also survived by his former wife, Marjorie Simmons.
