Obituary for Earl Lachance

11/20/36 - 1/5/23

Earl departed this physical world surrounded by his Favarh family who loved and cared for him deeply.

Earl was born in Connecticut and spent his earlier life at Mansfield Training School where he was a proud and accomplished member of the School Band. When he was sprung, he moved to the Farmington Valley and lived in various places until he settled in at Alleluia House in Avon.

Earl attended Favarh’s Restaurant Training Program starting in 1974, which prepared him for a career in the hospitality industry. He was employed as a dishwasher/bus person at The Betty Crocker/Pie Plate Restaurant in Avon for many years and was a treasured member of the team. Both staff and customers appreciated Earl, his antics, work ethic and love of pies! When the restaurant closed, he moved to Andy’s Italian Kitchen in Farmington where he repeated his pattern as a much-loved employee. He remained there until his retirement.

Earl loved many things but music, traveling, anything with engines, his cell phone and dishwashing were high on his list.

Earl leaves countless people whose lives he touched, but his Favarh family will miss him most. His housemates and staff at The Alleluia Group home and all of the staff that supported him through his years with Favarh’s Day and Employment programs. Earl also leaves his friend Tricia Nadeau who was blessed to be able to spend a recent vacation with him and he joined in with the family holidays. Earl had a special place in the hearts of anyone he met.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Tuesday, January 10th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at the Church of Saint Ann in Avon. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Avon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Earl’s memory to The Arc of the Farmington Valley, Favarh, 225 Commerce Drive, Canton, CT 06019.
