Obituary for Beryl Cole

Beryl Wilcox Cole, 91, of Avon, wife of 69 years to the late Richard Douglas Cole, died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at River Ridge in Avon. She was born June 21, 1931, daughter of the late LeRoy S. Wilcox and Lillian Beryl (Parmelee) Wilcox and lived in Deep River, CT until her marriage. Thereafter she lived on Dowd Avenue in Canton for over 50 years. She graduated from Bryant College in 1951 with a secretarial degree. Mrs. Cole was an Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of Canton for many years. Beryl was an active member of the Collinsville Congregational Church, (now Christ Community Church of Collinsville) a member of the Canton Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and a lifelong volunteer for many charitable organizations including the Red Cross. Beryl was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Keith W. Cole of Bristol, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21st at the Christ Community Church, 7 South Street in Collinsville. Donations in her memory may be made to Christ Community Church of Collinsville, the Canton Fire Department, NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
