Obituary for Phillip G. MacDonald

Phillip Gardner MacDonald, 76, of Canton, beloved husband of Mary (Griffin) MacDonald, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born January 28, 1946 in Framingham, MA, son of the late William and Kathleen (Maher) MacDonald and had lived in Avon/Canton for over 60 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. MacDonald was a Computer Programmer for CG/Cigna for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the New England Trail Riders Association. Phil was an avid reader, a motorcycle and car enthusiast and was a lifelong Boston sports fan.

In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by his sons, Sean and spouse Joselyn, Jason, Josh and wife Megan MacDonald; his siblings, Mary, Paul, Andrew, Amy, Ann, Colin and Constance as well as their families. His grandchildren, William, Liz, Katie, Shayn, Maggie and Ella, and his great grandson, Keagan. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Liam MacDonald.

Calling hours will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton, on Saturday, January 21st, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road in Avon. Burial will be private.
