Obituary for Lorraine Driscoll

Lorraine Anita (Frenette) Driscoll, 88, Canton, CT, wife of the late John F. Driscoll, died Thursday, January 12,2023, at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton, CT. Lorraine was born August 16,1934, in Portsmouth, NH, daughter of the late Charles A. and Georgiana (St. Jean) Frenette and lived in Rushville, IL prior to moving to Connecticut three years ago.

Lorraine and Jack started their family In Greenland, NH, where Jack built his family a home. In retirement they worked to winterize a camp on Sakokis Lake in Limerick, ME which became their permanent home and later their summer home when they found a place in Sebring, FL. Lorraine and Jack became “snowbirds” during this time in Maine and loved spending many winters in Florida in their RV. Lorraine and Jack were long volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, starting a new chapter while in Limerick and working on many “builds” in the south during their winters RVing. Later they sold the house in Maine and moved permanently to Sebring, FL where they lived until moving to Rushville, IL in 2016.

Lorraine enjoyed being a secretary and a librarian but being a mom was her true passion. She was an avid reader, and her spaghetti sauce and whoppie pies could not be beat. Lorraine and Jack had many friends over the years including a very close, formally known as the dirty dozen. Many wonderful memories of the group with family and friends during summer cookouts at the Limerick Lake camp home.

Lorraine is survived by sons, Paul N. Driscoll of Rye, NH and Wayne T. Driscoll and his wife Cindy of East Kingston, NH; her daughter Gail T. Walsh and her husband Don of Unionville, CT, her daughter-in-law Debbie Driscoll of Rushville, IL; her grandchildren, Aimee Driscoll, Hilary Driscoll, Cada May Driscoll, Jared Driscoll, Heather Driscoll, Josh Driscoll, Skyler Driscoll and his wife Lindsey, Lily Belle Driscoll and Brady Driscoll, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by a son, Gregory D Driscoll, two brothers Adrian and George Frenette and her sister, Therese King.

There will be a small ceremony in the spring in Portsmouth NH. All are welcome to give a donation to Cherry Brook Health Care Center, 102 Dyer Road, Canton CT 06019. Please visit Lorraine’s Book of Memories at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online tributes.
