Obituary for Donald Bilodeau

Donald Philip Bilodeau, 82, of Bristol, died Friday, January 20, 2023 at Hebrew Health in West Hartford. He was born May 2, 1940 in Hartford, son of the late Philip Banoit and Mary (Balas) Bilodeau and had lived in Collinsville for many years prior to moving to Bristol. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had owned and operated Ally Cat Café in Bristol and JJ Liquors in Meriden for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, the Plainville VFW Post 574 and the Elks Club in Bristol. Don loved all sports, having played basketball in high school and being a fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and UCONN Women’s Basketball. He also loved to dance, especially Polka with his sister, country music and playing bingo and all of the activities at the Elks and VFW.

He is survived by his sister, Phyllis B. Michaud of Coventry; his long time love, Lynn Allen of Newington; his God daughter and niece, Robin L. Dion and her husband Darrin and great nephew Johnathan; nephew William “Barry” Fuller and his wife Sharon and great nephew Nicolas and great niece Destiny; and nephew Walter Michaud.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 10th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 1st at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Collinsville.
