Richard E. and Virginia M. Sears
Richard E. Sears, 83, of Piedmont SC husband of the late Virginia (Erho) Sears passed away March 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born March 4, 1940 in Hartford, CT, son of the late George and Alberta (Boudreau) Sears. Dick was a veteran if the US Army and an accomplished auto repair man working on cars his entire life until retiring to SC with his loving wife in 2009.
Virginia M. (Erho) Sears 78, of Piedmont, SC passed away April 10, 2022 surrounded by family. Wife of Richard Sears, she was the daughter of the late James and Julia (Parylak) Erho. Ginny was employed with Inertia Dynamic for over 25 years before retiring to SC with her loving husband in 2009.
Dick and Ginny married May 4, 1963 and they had so much love for each other they were inseparable during their 58 years of marriage.
They are survived by their three children, Sherry Sears Poorbaugh (Michael Birden) of Torrington, CT, Richard Sears, Jr. (Tina Hempstead) of Simsonville, SC and Nicole Sears Levesque (Ashley Levesque) of Piedmont, SC; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and god children.
Richard leaves siblings Ann Pahl, Alby Sears, Claire Lozinski, Barbra LaChance, and Roger Sears. He was predeceased by a brother George Sears, Jr.
Virginia is survived by siblings Geraldine Dubois and James Erho Jr. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Erho.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 2nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 3rd at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Dementia Society of America, or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
