Obituary for Michael Mischak

Michael Stanley Mischak, 80, of Collinsville, husband of the late Marguerite (Myers) Mischak, died Thursday, May 11, 2023 at John Dempsey Hospital. He was born September 14, 1942 in Hartford, son of the late Stanley and Pauline (Hackbarth) Mischak and had been a lifelong resident of Collinsville. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had received his B.A. in Sociology from Central Connecticut State College. Michael was a Corrections Counselor for the State of Connecticut for many years prior to his retirement. He was a former member of the Canton Wetlands Advisory. Mike loved to spend hours researching his family’s genealogy going back many generations. When not in Collinsville, Michael would spend his time in his family-built cabin in the woods of Maine.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara Rogg and husband Jonathan of Collinsville; his son, Brian Mischak and wife Rebecca of Torrington; his brother, Paul Mischak of Avon; his sister-in-law, Michele Woodward and husband James of New Hartford; his brother-in-law, Richard Langley of Plainville and his precious grandchildren, Michael, Owen and Morgan Rogg and Hannah and Zachary Mischak. He also leaves behind his beloved cat Augustus.

I know you are where you want to be, I just wish you were here with me.
