Obituary for Kenneth Evans

Kenneth Michael Evans, 41, of Winsted, died Sunday, June 4, 2023 at his home. He was born November 20, 1981 in Hartford, beloved son/stepson of Karen (Pelkey) Evans and Matthew Mulhall of Canton & Torrington CT, and his biological father Ted Evans of Avon CT, and was raised in Canton. Kenny was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1999, and had studied Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep at the Daimler Chrysler Automotive Academy. He was the Service Manager at Fellage Automotive in Canton most recently, but was known by many as NAPA Ken, from his years as a parts Specialist & Manager at Napa Automotive in Canton. As everyone in town put it, “If Ken didn’t have the answer, no one did.” He began at Chrysler Dodge & Ram years ago when he first started on his journey in his field. Kenny loved anything with an engine, from driving all kinds of vehicles, to working on them. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed walking and spending time with his dog, Bella, at the Colebrook Reservoir, and most of all loved to spend time with his Nephews, Cannon and Jett.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Damon Johnson (Evans) of Newington; his sisters, Kari Reidhaar of Torrington, and Nicki Goldschmidt of Burlington; his grandmother, Anna Pelkey; his girlfriend, Jennifer Lewis and her son Isaiah Parker, whom he loved like his own.

We will be celebrating Kenny the way we know he would have loved, by Celebration of Life. This will be held on Saturday June 24th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Canton Fire House on Canton Springs Road.

Donations in his memory may be made to Greenwoods Counseling and Referrals Community Outreach for Addiction.
