Obituary for Ronald James Dudley
Ronald James Dudley, 73, of Simsbury, CT, beloved husband of Diana B. (Capardino) Dudley, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. He was born December 4, 1949 in Portland, ME, son of the late James and Dorothy (Shedlock) Dudley and had lived in New Jersey and New York prior to moving to Simsbury nine years ago. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the University of Hartford having received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Dudley was retired as the Assistant Vice President at Aetna Property & Casualty and he was also Vice President at Atlantic Mutual Companies and Vice President at Acord/Principal Insurance. Ron was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and the Men’s Ministry in West Simsbury. He was a former member of the Connecticut Jaycees as well as a member of several business organizations during his career. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, singing and playing his guitar, gardening, and most of all loved to spend time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased his wife’s parents, William and Licia (Carminati) Capardino, his brothers, John and Donald Dudley, by his grandparents, John and Frances (Wooten) Dudley and Andrew and Anna (Mushinsky) Shedlock and his wife's grandparents, Antonio Carminati and Gemma (Orash) Carminati as well as Antonio Capardino and Sophia (Marino) Capardino.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he leaves his son, Eric John Dudley and wife Melanie (Kaminsky) Dudley of Concord, CA and his grandson, Ethan Joseph Dudley; his sister Alice (Dudley) Breitzman and husband Bob; brother James Dudley and wife Vivien; sister-in-law, Janice Dudley; brother-in-law Mark Capardino and wife Martha (Schauss); sister-in-law, Liza (Capardino) Pegg and Ken Sheredy; and brother-in-law, Gary Pegg. He also survived by several cousins, nephews, nieces including: Lori and Paul Cordeau; Raymond and Barbie Seco; Sheila LoCastro; Marcie, Sharon, Mary Beth and Bobby Stelzer; Bobby and Vickie Haas; Dave and Debbie Absheer; as well as Timothy and Lesley Breitzman and son Owen; Randall and Amy Breitzman and daughters Lauren and Brienne; Gregory and Sarah Breitzman and sons Spencer and Elliott; Frank and Tammy Dudley; Sam Dudley; Jessica (Dudley) and Jimmy Graham, son Raidan and daughter Kayla; Jonetta (Dudley) and Ryan Halpin and sons Judah and Asher; Dane and Stephanie Dudley and sons Bennett and Shane; and Cole and Bethany Dudley.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 11:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, CT. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 pm. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury, CT. A Private Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck, CT on June 28th. In lieu of flowers, Ron's family would appreciate donations being made to: National Aphasia Association, P. O.
