James Clifford Zapp, 48, of West Simsbury, died Friday, August 11, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born August 30, 1974 in Hartford, beloved son of Mary (Dais) Zapp of West Simsbury and the late Dennis G. Zapp. He was a graduate of Simsbury High School, Class of 1992 and received his Bachelors Degree from Ithaca College in 1997. Jim was a technician for Richland Pest Control for several years. Jim enjoyed playing paddle tennis at Simsbury Farms, skiing throughout New England and swimming at the family cottage in Stafford Springs.

In addition to his mother, Jim leaves his sister, Theresa Kowalczyk of Ankeny, IA; his brother, Michael Zapp of Simsbury; his girlfriend, Rebecca P. Smith and his beloved nieces and nephews, Michael Zapp, Hallie Zapp, Allison Kowalczyk and Andrea Mosby.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 30, at St. Catherine of Siena Church,265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Inurnement will follow in the Sycamore Mausoleum at Simsbury Cemetery. A celebration of his life will continue at the Old Well Tavern in Simsbury following services.
