Obituary for Anthony Peter Trocchi

Anthony (Tony) P. Trocchi, 105, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully September 28, 2023 at home in Simsbury surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Simsbury on February 20, 1918, to Emidio and Matilda Trocchi and grew up in Windsor. He was the loving husband to Stella (Stefanski) Trocchi for seventy one years.

Tony was a quiet and humble man with a strong sense of family and hard work. He was a tool and die maker at Pratt & Whitney after graduating from high school and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a brilliant mathematician and earned his Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at UConn under the GI bill retiring from United Technologies.

He was a life-long golfer well into his 80’s as a member of the Geritol Swingers at Simsbury Farms, making two hole-in-ones. He enjoyed walks in his back woods into the Mclean Game Refuge, gardening, crosswords, sudoku, and classical music but most of all he loved his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers: Louis, Fred, Hector, and Zeno and his sister, Rose Pricone.

In addition to his wife, Stella, he is survived by his four children: Tony (Lynne), Loretta, Sandra Cady (Richard), and Jean Hebert (Thomas), nine grandchildren: Zeno Trocchi (Fernanda), Aminata De Groot, Michael DaCunha (Kelsey), Brendan DaCunha (Katie), Jeffrey Cady (Zoe), Scot Cady, Patrick Cady, Margot Hebert, and Melissa Hebert, and great grandson, Anthony (AJ) Cady.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street, in Simsbury, CT. Interment will be at a later date.
