Diane Elizabeth Trask, 83, of Canton, CT, formerly of Stonington and Windsor, died Friday, September 22, 2023 at Governor's House in Simsbury. After a long series of hospitalizations, Diane worked tirelessly in rehabilitation facilities to get strong and healthy again but eventually lost her fight.

Diane was born in Somerville, MA on August 31, 1940, to the late Inez (Govoni) Rich and David Willard. Diane was step-daughter to the late Charles L. Rich USN Ret, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Diane enlisted in the Navy on September 22, 1958 and was honorably discharged on September 21, 1961 at the expiration of her enlistment. Diane worked as a bookkeeper for Southeast Area Transit in Norwich, CT before retiring.

Diane was married to her husband of nearly 50 years, the late Charles H. Trask and they spent most of their married life happily in Stonington. Diane was also sister to the late Jeanne Boraks and sister-in-law to the late Gordon Boraks both formerly of Tiverton, RI. Diane leaves to treasure her memory. a loving son Brian Trask and his wife Ania of Canton, CT. She also leaves her beloved sister Carole Willard Clark, and her husband John of Garberville, CA and two dear friends, Barbara and Bob Doyen of Old Lyme. Diane was an avid reader and loved to travel. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends and her very favorite candy was a Butterfinger. Diane was also a fan of Outlander and was known to sing in the house to 80's music, much to the delight of her daughter-in-law Ania.
