Obituary for Kenneth N. Ehrhardt

Kenneth N. Ehrhardt, 88, of Canton, passed away on October 28, 2023. Born on May 4, 1935, to the late Louis Ehrhardt, Sr. and Charlotte (Barrows) Ehrhardt in Hartford, Kenneth grew up in Collinsville and graduated from Canton High School. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War era and was stationed in Texas and West Germany.

He spent decades debarking wood at E.R. Hinman & Sons in Burlington. If you live in a house built in the Farmington Valley in the second half of the 20th century, Kenneth probably prepared the wood used to build it.

He was predeceased in 1998 by his beloved wife of more than 40 years, Betty Pouliot Ehrhardt. They met in Collinsville and wed in Texas while Kenneth was serving his nation. Kenneth’s mother and father drove Betty to Texas in an epic two-day car trip from Connecticut so they could wed before Kenneth departed for Germany.

Kenneth is survived by his son Mark Ehrhardt, also of Canton. He was predeceased by his son Wilfred “Billy” Ehrhardt and eight siblings, Louis Ehrhardt, Jr., June Rhodes, Dorothy Rennie, Joyce Wojtilla, Donald Ehrhardt, Warren Ehrhardt, Ralph Ehrhardt and Steven Ehrhardt. He is survived by two nieces, three nephews and his sister-in-law Marilyn Ehrhardt.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Vincent Funeral Home of Canton.
