Obituary for Kenneth Glen Davis

Kenneth Glen Davis, 61, of Avon, CT beloved husband of Tammy (Florio) Davis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 30, 1962 in Pompton Plains, NJ, Ken was the son of Manon McMullin of Palm Coast, FL and Frank Davis of Cedar Grove, NC. He is also survived by his step-father James McMullin and was preceded in death by his Step-mother Nilda Reyes Davis. Ken lived in the Canton/Avon area for over 45 years and was a proud graduate of Canton High School. He furthered his education at the University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in the Class of 1987. Following graduation, Ken embarked on a successful career in Graphic Design, co-founding and operating Baily & Davis Design with his partner for many years. Later, he contributed his talents to Autograph of Farmington until its closure in 2010. Beyond his professional life, many in the community will fondly remember Ken as the “Grumpy” bartender at Margarita’s in Canton.

Ken was not only a gifted and creative artist, but also a devoted family man. The trio of Ken, Tammy and Ben were inseparable and experienced everything together. Ken always took the time to thoughtfully provide gifts to remember our precious family moments. With unwavering patriotism, Ken proudly displayed and discussed his love for his country. At home, he found joy in cooking, creating gourmet meals from almost anything.

In addition to his wife of 25 years and his parents, Ken leaves his son Benjamin John Paul Davis of Avon; his brothers, Keith Davis and wife Beth of Canton and Eric Davis and wife Anne of West Simsbury; and several nieces and nephews.

In Ken’s final year, his greatest joy was watching his son Benjamin graduate from Avon High School and embark on his college career.

Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 51 Church St, New Hartford, CT.
