Obituary for Richard Martinik

Richard Anthony Martinik, 58, of Tariffville, died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was born July 5, 1965 in Stamford, beloved son of Mona Ann (Bell) Martinik of Simsbury and the late Richard Charles Martinik and had been a lifelong resident of the Tariffville section of Simsbury. He was a graduate of Simsbury High School, Class of 1983, and had attended Asnuntuck Community College. He was in IT and Sales and had worked at Mark’s Auto Parts in East Granby for many years. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Church in Tariffville, the Makers Club and AA. He loved to spend time outdoors camping and looking for the elusive bigfoot.

In addition to his mother, Richard leaves his sons, Norris Whitman Martinik of Simsbury and Preston Bell Martinik of Tariffville; two sisters, Sandra Martinik of Newington and Andrea Devlin and husband Joe of Deep River, former wives Tracy W. & Valarie C. along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Martinik and a sister, TerryLee Germano.

Private family burial to be held at St. Bernard’s Cemetery with a friends and family Celebration of Life to follow at a time to be announced.
