Obituary for Ronald John Albrycht

Ronald John Albrycht, 83, of Avon, husband of the late Florence (Pastular) Albrycht, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born May 26, 1940 in Hartford, son of the late John and Ann (Aliski) Albrycht and had lived in Canton all of his life prior to moving to Avon three years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 4th Infantry Division and had worked at United Technologies as a Machinist for many years prior to his retirement at the age of 55. A true master craftsman, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or build. He reupholstered furniture as a side job, was always tinkering in his workshop and in his retirement worked at Ace Hardware in Canton for many years, a job he truly enjoyed. Ron also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his boat, taking his family waterskiing on Otis Lake and loved cars and NASCAR, going to many stock car races at Riverside Park with his daughter. He loved all animals, especially his dogs, having many throughout the years, including his grand-dogs who he enjoyed frequent visits from.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hall and her husband Joshua of West Simsbury; his grandchildren, Mollie and Ben Hall; his brother, Gary Albrycht of Burlington; his sister-in-law, Elaine Makowski of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Bantam in the spring at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunshine Wheels, 37 Bliss Memorial Road, Unionville, CT 06085 or to the Simon Foundation, 120 Rescue Lane, Bloomfield, CT 06002. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements. Please visit Flo’s “Book of Memories” at www.vincentfuneralhome.com for online tributes.
