Dusky Lee Ferreira (née Johnson), of West Hartford, CT, passed away at the age of 81, on January 23, 2024, in Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on August 9, 1942, in New Britain, CT to Kenneth and Dorothy Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Olimpio Ferreira, their children: Elaine Ferreira, Mark Ferreira, and Laura Klett and her husband Tom Klett and their sons, Brandon, Cameron and Gavin. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Joy Cromwell.
Dusky's passion for life was evident in the joy she brought to her role as a planner and host of many family gatherings. Her love for the culinary arts shone brightly at her renowned Trim-A-Tree parties, and her talent for DIY projects showcased her natural flair for creativity and style long before it became a popular trend. Dusky and Olie also loved spending time at their cottage at the Rhode Island shore.
In keeping with Dusky's wishes, the family has decided not to hold services. They suggest that those wishing to honor her memory may make a charitable contribution to St. Jude's Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
