Obituary for Joseph Francis "Joe" Krocheski Jr.

Joseph Francis Krocheski, Jr. of West Simsbury, beloved husband of Judith “Jude” Marie Zanelli-Krocheski, died Monday, March 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 24, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, son of Joseph Francis Krocheski, Sr. and Anna Marie (Coughlin) Krocheski. Joe resided with Jude in West Simsbury for 26 years.

Joe was a graduate of UConn having received his MBA in Finance and achieved the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst. Joe started his career as a Security Analyst and Portfolio Manager. Later, he transitioned to the Vice President of Investor Relations and then Vice President CFO of Commercial and Specialty Businesses at Aetna/CVS. Prior to his passing, Joe was a Senior Vice President at Molina Healthcare.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and of Hopmeadow Country Club, both in Simsbury.

Joe delighted in landscaping, having never been able to pass a nursery without stopping. Always coming home with a new hydrangea for Jude to find a home among the other multitudes. He lived for kayaking, hiking, and biking with his family. Joe relished cruising in his Jeep with the top down and music up. Most Saturday evenings were spent outside with a roaring fire watching movies with friends and family. In the summer months, he enjoyed travelling to the Berkshires, especially Tanglewood. Joe adored cooking, grilling and most of all eating. Above all else, Joe’s greatest passion was making his daughters, Katie and Isa, laugh.

In addition to his loving wife of almost 27 years, he is survived by his daughters, Kathryn “Katie” Krocheski of Catskill, NY and Isabella “Isa” Krocheski of West Simsbury; his siblings Carolyn Krocheski, Diana Barton and husband Scott, Timothy Krocheski and Kimberly Newberry and husband John. Joe also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and two great nephews.

The family wishes to thank the whole sixth floor staff in the Conklin Building at Hartford Hospital Rehab for their kind and dignified treatment of our beloved Joe during his two weeks stay. As well as Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute’s Neuro-Oncology Team who guided our family through a difficult time.

Calling hours will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
