Lorraine (Durand) Delahanty, 90, of Avon, wife of the late Joseph B. Delahanty, died Monday, April 1, 2024 at Cherry Brook Health Care in Canton. She was born December 3, 1933 in Fall River, MA, daughter of the late Armand Durand and Antoinette Tomashumas and had lived in Hartford prior to moving to Avon over 60 years ago. Mrs. Delahanty was a Home Health Care Worker for McLean in Simsbury for many years prior to her retirement. Lorraine bred and showed champion AKC Beagles. She was a proud member of the American Kennel Club. She enjoyed attending dog shows with her friends/family, camping with her family and loved watching UCONN men's and woman's basketball.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Delahanty of Avon; four sons, Kevin Delahanty of East Point, FL, Michael Delahanty and his wife Kelly of Newington, Kerry Delahanty of Avon and Ken Delahanty, of Canton; four grandsons, Scott Delahanty and fiancée Anneliese Hurlock of Collinsville, Kurt Delahanty and girlfriend Olivia Vitali of Torrington, David Delahanty of New Hartford; Sean Delahanty of Farmington; three step grandsons Anderson Claffey and Keegan Claffey of Newington, Shannon Vigue of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; past daughter-in-law Terri Delahanty and boyfriend Al LaPointe of Torrington. She also loved multiple great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Higham. The family would like to pay special thanks to all the loving care givers over the last few years: Olgulezek Ovsyek and her husband, Wioletta Zielinska and the Cherry Brook Health Care nurses and staff.

Calling hours will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Friday, April 5th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 6 th. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Avon.
