Obituary for Arline S. Croce (Sivertsen)

Arline Elizabeth (Sivertsen) Croce, 83, formerly of Simsbury, went to be with all those she loved who had passed before her on April 6, 2024.

Arline was born on November 25, 1940 to Einar Sivertsen and Margaret “Peggy” Kenny in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised in Brooklyn with her two half-sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Reed and Dorothy Reed, until moving to Florida with her parents where she attended Central Junior High School in West Palm Beach before she graduated from Miami Senior High in 1958. After graduating from Charon Business School, Miami, she worked for a law firm.

In 1958, Arline met Frank Croce, Jr., the love of her life, who was a family acquaintance from Glen Head, NY and a student at Embry Riddle School of Aviation, Miami, after military service. They married and went on to have three daughters, Catherine, Laura and Susan. They eventually settled in Enfield, CT where Frank began his career as a Field Service Representative at Hamilton Standard. After raising their three daughters, Arline began her career at Hamilton Standard as an Executive Secretary, dedicating 27 years before retiring in 1999.

Arline and her late husband Frank shared a beautiful journey together, filled with love and adventures. They met in their youth, married, and spent 59 wonderful years together until Frank's passing in 2017. They raised their family in various locations, finally settling in Simsbury, CT, where they were active members of the Powder Forest community.

Arline never met a stranger; she was a vibrant and sociable woman who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She had a passion for decorating, cooking and hosting gatherings, nurturing lasting friendships wherever she went. She and Frank enjoyed sailing, skiing, and traveling, creating many cherished memories along the way. Arline belonged to a broad array of social and service groups, many focused on her passions for gardening, bridge, golf, theater and the arts.

She will be deeply missed by her family and many loving and caring friends. She leaves her three daughters, Catherine Tower and her husband Jamie of Suffield, CT, and their children Jennifer, Michael and Gregory; Laura Stark and her husband Charles of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and their children Matthew and Alexa; and Susan Cormier and her husband Michael of Somers, CT, and their children Luke and Liza; six great-grandchildren, Norman, Tabitha, Katherine, Gwendolyn, Morgan and Madison; brother-in-law Fred Croce of Vero Beach, FL, and his wife Denise, and loving nieces and nephew.

The family expresses gratitude to the caregivers of Seabury who provided her with exceptional care and love during her time there.

Calling hours will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, in Simsbury on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 10 AM to 11 AM with a Memorial Service immediately following from 11 AM to 11:30 AM.
