Obituary for Susan Hyatt

Susan Louise Hyatt, 76, of Granby passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her unwavering love for her family, and her passion for life.

Born August 17, 1947, Susan was a woman of many interests. She had an insatiable sweet tooth and found joy in indulging in delicious treats. Her love for sports, particularly her beloved Giants, was unparalleled. She cheered for her team with unmatched enthusiasm, making every game day a celebration.

Above all, Susan cherished her role as a mother. Her two surviving sons were the center of her universe, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them throughout their lives. They were her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in watching them grow and succeed.

Throughout her life, Susan was a dedicated nurse who spent her career, through to her last days, caring for others. Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Sampson and Jay Sampson, and her sister Janet Zumwalt. She was predeceased by her brother, Greg Nixon.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Thursday, April 11th from noon to 7pm at her son Kenneth’s home at 81 Buttles Road in Granby. Friends and family are invited to join together to honor this remarkable woman who brought so much love and joy into the world.
