Obituary for Carolyn L. Dziedzic (Schramm)

Carolyn L. (Schramm) Dziedzic, 80, of Collinsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 27, 1943 in Hartford, daughter of the late Emil and Evelyn (Zaugg) Schramm and had lived in Granby prior to moving to Collinsville over 50 years ago. She was married to the late Donald D. Dziedzic before his passing in 2004. Carol was an Administrative Assistant for The Hartford Insurance Company for many years and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa with Tunxis Community College in 1992. She was a member of the Bakerville Church for many years before being a member of the Four Square Church in Torrington. She participated in the National Day of Prayer along with organizing a book club with her church, loved all music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar. Carolyn loved all animals, was immensely patriotic, and had a deep love for Jesus.

Carol is survived by: her two children Amy Jane Dziedzic and Michael D. Dziedzic, her grandsons Dylan, Daniel and Devin Dziedzic, her nieces Susan Keiper and wife Christine, Sandy Freund and her husband Edward, her brother-in-law John D’Orio, her nephews John D’Orio and his wife Janine, David D’Orio and his wife Sahar, Chris D’Orio and his wife Regina, David Dziedzic and his wife Marsha, Wayne Dziedzic and his wife Palma. Her great-nieces and great-nephews: Donna Wainman, Crystal Gilbar, Alicia Gagnon, Ashlee Lynn Gagnon Shay Gilbar, Peter Gilbar, Lily D’Orio, Matt D’Orio, Ryan D’Orio, Sarah D’Orio, Jason Dziedzic, Karrie Anne Kent, Valerie Heist, Brandon Tydlaska-Dziedzic, and Joey Dziedzic. Her dear friends and long standing neighbors Debbie and Mark Altschwager and Chuck and Karen Fillian. Her closest friends Sally and Ken Young, Judy and Ken Byrne, Angie and Ron Boratko and many more friends. Along with her sweet kitty Middy. She was predeceased by her sisters, Arlene Gibbs, Faith Wainman, Joan Schramm, and Janice D’Orio, her nephews Jeffery Wainman, William Wainman, Edward, “Kip” Keiper, and her niece Charlotte McBride and her husband Jimmy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26th at Christ Community Church, 7 South Street in Collinsville.
