Ada (Togni) Groppo, 98, of Woodside Circle, Simsbury, wife of the late Leo Groppo, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at Countryside Manor in Bristol, with her family by her side. She was born August 25, 1915 in Avon, daughter of the late Andrea and Margaret (Simonelli) Togni and had lived in Avon for many years prior to moving to Simsbury. Mrs. Groppo was an Office Administrator with Travelers Insurance for 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury and for 50 years, a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Prince Thomas of Savoy in Avon. Ada enjoyed cooking, traveling, ballroom dancing, and being with her family. She is survived by her son, Robert Groppo and his wife Terry Wight of Sunnyvale, CA; her daughter, Michel Beaupre of Sunnyvale, CA; three grandchildren, Eli and his wife Katherine, Micah and Leah, and two great grandchildren, Madeline and Sullivan. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 13th, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury.
