Heidi Katherine Slavin, of Canton, died peacefully while surrounded by her adoring family and dear friends on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Connecticut Children’s’ Medical Center in Hartford. Born June 26, 2015 she was the beloved infant daughter of Jim and Kimberly C. Slavin. During her brief time with us, Heidi touched the lives of many and was loved immensely. She was cradled in our arms as much as possible while we sang her songs, rubbed her dark hair, kissed her continuously and held her little hands. Heidi will always remain her parents’ precious baby, Jimmy’s little sister, and we will hold her again in heaven one day.

In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her brother, Jimmy Slavin (6) of Canton; her paternal grandparents, James and Brigitte Slavin of West Hartford; her maternal grandparents, Steve and Mary Carson of England and Seymour, CT respectively; her aunts and uncles, Peter and Nicole Slavin, Bill Slavin, MaryBeth and John Reiss, Lou and Caryn Weisenbacher, Margie Mason, Dominic Cosserat and Rachel Partridge, and Storm Cosserat.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Friday, July 17th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 18th, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, tribute gifts in Heidi’s name may be made to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through connecticutchildrensfoundation.org. We are extremely grateful for the excellent medical care and loving attention that Heidi’s doctors and nurses provided to her. These kind people became our friends during our 17 day stay at CCMC.
