As many here may know, Adam was the youngest (by a few years!) of three and although my Aunt Mimi and my Dad were wonderful people, I always considered Uncle Adam to be the “cool” uncle. Full of energy and fun, he was a joy to be around. As I got older, his sage advice was invaluable to me, especially during my Navy career. A couple years ago we had the honor to host a lot of the Leighton family aboard our trawler (a large, slow powerboat!) for a day cruise on Casco Bay in Maine. Watching Uncle Adam relive his younger Navy years as a Master Helmsman while driving our far smaller 50’ boat was something I will treasure forever. He will live in our hearts forever.

I was deeply sadden when I read the news of Adam's passing. I first met him when I became a Mason over 5 years ago. Adam was a very warm, sincere and genuine human being ! Always the polished gentleman, Adam enjoyed sharing stories of life and family with me. He and I often shared a glass (or two ) of red wine during our fellowship hour before lodge meetings.

He enriched my life through his kindness and positive outlook! Heaven has added another great soul! Adam will be missed but I will be forever grateful that he was in my life!

My sincerest sympathies go out to the Leighton family. Many thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time!

Warmest Regards,

David Woods

My sincere condolences to all of you. I have so many wonderful memories of Adam at Highland Lake. My earliest memories are of him and his golden retrievers. Then bringing young Adam to experience the joy of Highland Lake . He loved coming back to Maine every summer. He was always so kind and interested in all the happenings of our family. I know my Aunt Judy always loved chatting with him as well. One of the last times he was here I was able to take a few pictures of him and Aunt Judy. We lost Aunt Judy last November. Sending love and prayers to all of you and especially Gail. Sincerely, Caroline Diamon
