Doris (Oman) Eaton, 86, of Simsbury, wife of the late Donald C. Eaton, Jr., died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at John Dempsey Hospital. She was born June 16, 1924 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth (Fraser) Oman and had lived in Pittsford, NY prior to moving to Simsbury 41 years ago. Doris was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, the Simsbury Women’s Club, and the Simsbury Republican Women’s Committee. She enjoyed cruises with her husband, knitting, reading and having lunch with friends.

She is survived by her son, Donald C. Eaton, III and his wife Julie of West Hartford and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Richard and Charles Oman, Ruth Carrol and Jean Oman.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury of Sunday, January 30th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday, January 31st, 11:00 AM at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7 Wescott Road, Simsbury with the Reverend Robert P. McGurn officiating.
