Obituary for Norris John Pilon

Norris John Pilon
Norris John Pilon, 24, of Canton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Carmichael outside Sacramento, California. He was born August 29, 1989 in Hartford. The much loved son of Kateri (Owsiak) and Mark Pilon of Canton, Norris had lived in Simsbury prior to moving to Canton. He attended St. Mary's School in Simsbury, as well as Simsbury and Canton High Schools. When younger he had been an active member of BSA Troop 76 and Simsbury Crew Team. He attended Camp Jewel and Camp Mattatuck, later returning as a counselor and teaching archery. He was a creative soul, using his talents in anything artistic, especially glass blowing, making jewelry, and cooking. He was a natural musician, playing any instrument he could get his hands on. He could sing too, but rarely shared his singing. Norris enjoyed spending time with friends and family, camping, hiking, going to festivals, reading, and always listening to the Grateful Dead. He had great love and care for this earth and the people on it. All who knew Norris appreciated his gentle spirit and many have thought of him kindly as "not of this world". In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Philip and Mary Ann Pilon of Simsbury; many aunts and uncles including, Sr. Hedwig Owsiak, OSU, Dolores Dobrzynski, John Osipa, Anastazia Owsiak, Kasmira Owsiak, Christopher and Vicky Pilon, Matt and Priscilla Pilon, Andrea and Dan O'Brien, Kate and John Hawkins, Jon and Heike Pilon. He is also survived by many loving cousins and extended family. He will be missed by all the friends he made everywhere wherever he went. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Stanley and Eleanora Owsiak and his aunt, Stephanie Owsiak. Friends and family may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 3rd, 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to your local food bank and helping those less fortunate around you. Friends and family may also choose to visit Norris' Facebook page.
